It’s not always about the major projects – at Little Fire we like to think we do great small websites for business too. Where sole traders and solopreneurs can struggle for credibility, a well-designed website can make a small company look larger and more professional. A well-designed website will help your business gain vital trust.
Sometimes a business just doesn’t need a large website – their services may be personal and their clients select – they just need a presence online. Small websites can pack a lot of punch.
This February, we were delighted to have two such small website design projects for two very different companies.
Tim Frederick Developments Ltd
With an established track record renovating and letting properties, Tim has sought to formalise his business, offering property sourcing and renovation services to potential property investors.
He has taken time to earn the qualifications a modern landlord needs, making a one-stop-shop for clients looking to get started with their property portfolio.

It’s not the most web-savvy business, more plasterworks and electrical installation, but the web presence matters. Despite completing the job on a shoestring, we have sought to make Tim’s site stand out from others in the same field. We made sure the site has:
- stand-out professional design,
- all legal requirements met,
- initial SEO optimisations completed
- integraton with HubSpot so a lead is never lost.
We look forward to working further with Tim, building his site further as his business grows.
Gel Investments Ltd
Gel Invest in Chesterfield is a very different kettle of fish. As a well-established firm, the brief came complete with professional branding guidelines and a very specific instructions.
Gel Invest are a fund offering angel investment for private enterprise and have been doing so since 2018.
It was a pleasure to work with the graphic designer and client to complete a simple, one-page site to introduce potential clients to their services.
Small Websites Need More Love
Of course, a one-page website is never just one page. There are legal requirements: as soon as you have a contact form you need a privacy policy and as soon as you have analytics, you need a cookie policy. And there’s much more than that, you need people to know what’s needed – you need checklist.
In terms of costs per page, a small website is more expensive to produce than a larger one, the design decisions still need to be made, the policy requirements are much the same. It takes some skill to get things right and stay within tight budgets.
But this is not our first rodeo – we completed both projects with some ease. Both sites are now ranking #1 in Google for their respective business names.
If you want your start-up to compete with established brands. Or if you need an online presence which spreads the right message, you might just need Little Fire Digital.
